Healthcare Services Group Under Investigation for Data Breach of Over 600,000 Records
Schubert Jonckheer & Kolbe LLP is investigating a data breach that led to unauthorized access of the sensitive information of 624,496 individuals affiliated with Healthcare Services Group, Inc. (“HSGI”), a Pennsylvania-based provider of environmental, dining, and nutritional support services to healthcare facilities.
HSGI provides its services to more than 3,000 healthcare facilities in 48 U.S. states, including skilled nursing facilities, behavioral care centers, recovery centers, and hospitals.
On October 7, 2024, HSGI discovered that an unauthorized third party accessed and copied files from its computer systems between September 27, 2024, and October 3, 2024.
Although the breach began in September 2024, HSGI did not begin notifying affected individuals until on or around August 25, 2025, which may have violated state and federal laws. The following information may have been compromised in the breach: names, Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers, state identification numbers, financial account information, and full access credentials.
If your personal information was impacted by this incident, you may be at risk of identity theft and other serious violations of your privacy. As a result, you may be entitled to monetary damages and an injunction requiring changes to HSGI’s cybersecurity practices.
