Farmers Insurance Exchange Under Investigation for Data Breach of Over 1 Million Customer Records
Schubert Jonckheer & Kolbe LLP is investigating a data breach that led to unauthorized access of the sensitive information of 1,071,172 customers of Farmers Insurance Exchange, Farmers Group, Inc., and their subsidiaries and affiliates (Farmers Insurance). Farmers Insurance is a California-based insurance company.
On May 30, 2025, Farmers Insurance discovered that an unauthorized third party accessed and acquired files from its systems on May 29, 2025.
Although the breach occurred in May 2025, Farmers Insurance did not begin notifying affected individuals until on or around August 22, 2025, which may have violated state and federal laws. Farmers Insurance has not publicly disclosed what information was accessed.
