Cornwell Quality Tools Under Investigation for Data Breach of Over 100,000 Records

Schubert Jonckheer & Kolbe LLP is investigating a data breach that led to unauthorized access to the sensitive information of 103,782 individuals affiliated with Cornwell Quality Tools (“Cornwell”). Cornwell is an Ohio-based manufacturer of automotive and aviation tools.

On December 20, 2024, Cornwell discovered that an unauthorized third party gained access to its network and acquired files containing individuals’ personal information on or around December 12, 2024.

Although the breach occurred in December 2024, Cornwell did not begin notifying affected individuals until on or around September 4, 2025, which may have violated state and federal laws. The following information may have been compromised in the breach: names, Social Security numbers, medical information, and financial account numbers.
